Rustic tumbled unfilled TravertineAll Prices Include VAT
This floor is great value, a basic natural floor with great character. The colour variation is much greater and less selected, and the stone features larger amounts of surface pitting and cavities and worn, rounded edges. Once slurry grouted, the antique look is complete.
Classic Light honed and filled TravertineAll Prices Include VAT
Pretty much an industry standard but buyer beware - ours is a true "classic grade" stone, not a 2nd or 3rd grade that will gradually develop more craters than the surface of the moon! Well colour-matched resin filler and a smooth, silky finish in warm shades of honey through to caramel.
Classic brushed & chipped edge Travertine All Prices Include VAT
The surface of the stone is created using diamond-tipped brushes, which give it a dimpled texture. The brushes also mildly polish the tile, giving it a soft satin finish. The chipped edges finish the antique look nicely, with colours from light cream to dark beige.
Classic brushed & unfilled TravertineAll Prices Include VAT
The same finish and colours as the brushed chipped edge, but with square-cut edges. A more modern appearance with a soft, tactile feel under bare foot. The open pitting will be mostly filled when grouting.
Ivory honed & filled TravertineAll Prices Include VAT
A dense, quality stone, with gentle colour variation. Not to be confused with lower quality travertine which is full of holes, found all over the internet. Our ivory travertine is first grade and has been surface filled to give a smooth finish with little or no pitting. Pale biscuit colours with gentle swirls of cappuccino stirred in make this a very popular choice.
Classic Light tumbled & unfilled Travertine All Prices Include VAT
A popular and timeless look, warm browns through to pale creams with natural surface pitting and worn edges create an aged appearance. Slurry-grouting will help to partially fill the surface holes.
Noce tumbled unfilled TravertineAll Prices Include VAT
Sumptuous, rich chocolate and cream blends, the rounded edges and scattered small cavities belie the smooth surface. With its worn, dusty surface and softly worked edges, this floor will look as if it has always been there.
Ivory vein-cut filled & polished TravertineAll Prices Include VAT
A more unusual travertine, this stone has been cut in a different way so as to show the layers built up over millions of years. Its linear appearance gives the impression of a desert landscape, light cream through to butterscotch shades and some resin filler, buffed to a high-gloss lustre
Noce vein-cut filled & polished TravertineAll Prices Include VAT
Similar in appearance to the Ivory vein-cut but darker. Featuring frothy waves of chocolate, cappuccino and buttermilk, evocative of a choppy ocean. The surface is polished but still retains an underlying mottled appearance.
Golden tumbled unfilled TravertineAll Prices Include VAT
A very ancient, rustic appearance with fissures and crevices that are partially filled when grouted. Intense golden tones are muted in places by the tumbling process, giving a dusty look to the stone
Smoke brushed & chipped edge TravertineAll Prices Include VAT
A truly different selection to the usual travertines you find available. Very hard, durable and full of character, this heavily tumbled stone has characteristic pitting and worn edges. It has a cloudy grey base colour with subtle blends of purples, browns and charcoals, finished with milky swathes.
Travertine is generally beige or ivory in colour but many variations are available from Silver to coral red, Noce and the popular Classic varieties.
As major importers we keep all the usual colours and sizes in stock for delivery within 3 days.
All travertine tiles are suitable for use in kitchens and bathrooms and like all natural stone, travertine can be used with underfloor heating.
Travertine naturally has holes - these are often filled with resin at the factory - these are 'honed and filled' travertine tiles.
If the holes are left open these are termed 'unfilled travertine tiles' and the holes should be filled with grout during installation.
Very popular are the tumbled travertines - this tumbled finish is available for all of the colours - classic, ivory, noce and gold to name a few. The tumbled stones are usually unfilled.
Our free travertine tile samples are supplied sealed so you can fully appreciate the fine detail of these stunning natural stones.

Our rough guide to buying, installing and living with travertine tiles
The rise and rise of travertine tiles ! This very pretty natural stone originates mostly from Turkey, these days travertine tiles come in many colours and finishes and the product keeps getting cheaper as the market grows hence the continued popularity of this material.
Choosing travertine tiles
Colour – The lightest travertine tiles are usually referred to as ‘Ivory’ – they do have a slight yellowness to them as well as light beige tones. Classic travertine tiles tend to be more beige and tan whilst still retaining some cream shades. Noce or walnut travertine is richer in colour and is in fact a stronger stone than the lighter colours. Walnut travertine tiles look fantastic with cream colour schemes or furniture and they also work well where there is plenty of natural light. The lighter travertine tiles are always popular and a ‘safe bet’ but get a sample of the darker colour as well.
Travertine tiles are also available in rich golden tones and metallic silver and black shades – we call the latter product ‘smoke’.
Finish- you will often hear travertine tiles referred to as ‘honed and filled’ or ‘tumbled’. Travertine tiles have holes in them- this is a feature of the stone which is formed over vegetation, the holes remain as the organic matter rots away. These holes are often ‘ filled’ with a resin at the factory before the tiles are ‘ honed’ to give a smooth finish.
‘Tumbling’ is a process by which natural stone including travertine tiles are given a worn or aged appearance. The tiles are placed in a large tank with water and abrasives which then vibrates – this is the tumbling process. Note that tumbled travertine tiles look a little lighter in colour when compared to their ‘honed’ equivalent. The edges are also rounder and some of the corners will be missing.
Size – Travertine tiles come in sizes from 300 x 300mm up to 600 x 900mm in both honed and tumbled finishes.

With travertine tiles particular attention needs to be given to preparing the subfloor to a high standard in terms of providing rigidity as travertine tiles although suitable for most applications have less tensile strength than some other natural stones.
